WHITE CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. grated white chocolate
1/2 c. boiling water, pour over chocolate
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
6 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 c. broken pecans
1 c. coconut

ICING:

3 egg yolks
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tall can evaporated milk

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Add cooled chocolate mixture. Add milk and flour, mixed with soda and salt, alternately, ending with flour. Fold in egg whites, coconut and pecans. Bake in 3 (9") greased and floured pans for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING: Combine sugar, butter and milk. Cook for about 20 minutes or until it forms a soft ball. Add vanilla. Stir while cooking. Beat until spreading consistency.
