DATE BALLS 
1 lb. dates, ground or chopped
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Put butter, sugar, and dates together and cook four minutes, starting on low heat. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Cool thoroughly! Form into balls and roll in confectioners' sugar.

Note: Chill the mixture well or your hands will be gooey. Roll the balls and put on an open tray overnight before rolling in sugar to avoid "soggy" sugar.
