SAUSAGE STEW
1 lb. Polish sausage (or smoked or "lite")
3 to 4 med. potatoes
2 carrots
2 to 3 onions
3 c. water
1 can tomatoes with juice
1 cube beef bouillon
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. thyme
2 to 3 grinds of pepper
3 tbsp. flour

Peel vegetables and cut into chunks (approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches). Cut sausage into 1 inch chunks. Put meat and veggies in big pot with all remaining ingredients except flour. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, until vegetables are tender (1/2 hour or so). Remove bay leaf. Mix flour with about 1/2 cup cold water and strain into simmering stew. Cook and stir until gravy is thickened, about 1 minute.
