CHERRY WINKS 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. Kellogg's cornflakes

Sift together: flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside. Combine shortening and sugar - cream well. Blend in eggs, milk and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients, mix well. Add pecans, dates and maraschino cherries. Mix well. Shape into balls using a level tablespoon of dough for each cookie. Crush Kellogg's cornflakes. Roll each ball of dough in cornflakes. Place on greased sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
