CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
(14 oz.) bag caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk, divided
1 pkg. Swiss chocolate deluxe cake mix (Duncan Hines)
1 1/4 sticks butter, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips

1. In top of double boiler, combine caramels and 1/3 cup milk, stirring constantly until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

2. Combine cake mix, melted butter, plus remaining milk in mixer until well blended. Press half of cake mixture into a greased 9"x13" pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees.

3. Sprinkle chocolate pieces and nuts over crust. Pour caramel mixture evenly over chips and nuts. Dollop rest of cake mixture over caramels.

4. Return to oven and bake another 15 to 18 minutes.

5. Cool. Then chill for 30 minutes. Cut into small bars.
