CRANBERRY TEA | |
3 qts. water 1 pkg. whole cranberries 4 sticks cinnamon 12 cloves 2 lemons (room temp. & rolled) 2 oranges (room temp. & rolled) 2 c. sugar Put first 4 ingredients in a pan, cover and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Strain and discard the spices and cranberries by pouring juice through a colander into another pan or large bowl (if you use a bowl, pour juice back into first pan so can continue to heat on stove). To this liquid, add the juice of 2 lemons and 2 oranges and 2 cups of sugar. Stir to blend well. Joanie says she sometimes leaves this on the stove on warm and it smells wonderful throughout the house. Easy for family members to scoop out a cupful throughout the day. NOTE: This can be stored in refrigerator for future use, but will get cloudy. (This will be a deep red in color - wonderful to serve during Christmas season.) |
