DORIS BROCK'S BROWN BREAD 
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. graham flour
3 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. dark molasses

Combine flour, graham flour, soda and salt. Add the buttermilk and molasses last. Pour mixture into greased 3-pound Crisco or other shortening can. Cover can with foil. Place can in large pot (canner is ideal) and fill it 3/4 full of water. Cover pot and steam bread for 3 hours, checking water periodically.

Remove from can, slice and serve. (Can be made ahead and resteamed or wrapped in foil and warmed in oven or heated in microwave.) Serve 14-16.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
