APPLE CRUMB PIE 
5-7 apples (5 c. sliced)
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
6 tbsp. butter

Put apples in pie shell (recipe below). Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Mix 1/3 cup sugar with the flour. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Bake at 325 degrees for an additional 40 minutes.

PASTRY:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
5-7 tbsp. water

Sift flour and salt together. Cut in shortening. Add a small amount of water until it's all used. Try not to work the dough too much. Roll out.
