COFFEEHOUSE CAFE AU LAIT 
6 to 8 c. hot New Orleans Chicory coffee
3 c. whole milk
1/3 to 1/2 c. heavy cream

Combine milk and cream in a saucepan. Bring just to a boil; remove from heat. Using coffee cup (or mugs), fill 1/3 full of hot coffee. Add the hot milk and cream until the cups are 2/3 full. Always pour the coffee and cream together.
