7-UP POUND CAKE 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. (8 oz.) 7-Up soft drink

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar gradually mixing until creamy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beat well. Add lemon extract. At low speed add flour, then fold in 7-Up. Bake at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours. DO NOT open oven door while cake is baking.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. When done, leave in pan for 15 minutes. Then remove and cool on rack.
