REFRIGERATOR ROLLS (No Kneading)
2 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 egg
1/4 c. shortening
6 1/2-7 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of the warm water. Add 1/2 teaspoon sugar to help yeast work, wait 5 minutes. Add yeast mixture to remaining water. Add remaining sugar, salt, beaten egg and shortening. Beat in flour until dough is workable with hands.

Place in warm, greased bowl. Cover with greased wax paper and then a damp cloth. Store in refrigerator. Take out only amount needed. Form rolls with fingers (about the size of a handball). Place in greased pan. Let rise until light (1 1/2 hours). Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
