DUTCH-STYLE RED CABBAGE 
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. butter
3 c. shredded red cabbage
1 c. diced apples
3 whole cloves
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. wine vinegar
1/4 c. stock

Saute onion in butter until limp and transparent; add remaining ingredients. Cover; cook for 10 minutes. Yield: 4 servings.
