1/2 lb. butter
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. vanilla butter nut flavoring (not substitute)
1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries & juice
3 1/4 c. flour

Cream first 3 ingredients. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Add enough milk to cherry juice to make 1 cup. Cut cherries in half and mix cherries, juice, flavoring to creamed mixture. Sift flour and salt. Stir walnuts into flour well, add to creamed ingredients. Mix well with spoon. Pour mixture into greased and floured tube pan. Place in cold oven. Set oven for 300 degrees, bake 2 1/2 hours. Let cool in pan.
