DOUBLE CONGO BARS 
4 eggs, beaten
1 lb. brown sugar
2/3 c. melted shortening
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Beat the eggs, add the brown sugar and beat well. Sift the dry ingredients and blend into the egg and sugar mixture. Add the melted shortening. Stir in the chopped nuts, vanilla and chocolate chips. Bake in a long cookie sheet with 1" sides for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
