WACKY CAKE 
Oven temperature 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9 inch round or an 8 inch square pan. Baking times: 30 minutes or 35 minutes.

1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. white vinegar
1 c. water

Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Mix thoroughly, then make 3 wells and add oil, vanilla and vinegar in the wells. Top with water and mix again with fork until blended. Pour into prepared pan and bake.

FROSTING (enough for 2 layers) :

1 lb. confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. soft butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3-4 tbsp. milk
1 egg

Cream 1/3 sugar with butter and salt. Blend in vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons milk and remainder of sugar. Add egg. Mix well, adding more milk if needed.
