WHOLE WHEAT COOKIES 
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. Quaker Wheat Hot Natural Cereal, uncooked
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Beat together brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla; mix well. Add combined flour, salt and soda; mix well. Stir in cereal and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack. Store in tightly covered container.

Variations: Substitute 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces or raisins or 1/2 cup shredded coconut or chopped dates for nuts.
