FLOWER POT CAKE (DIRT CAKE) | |
20 oz. bag Oreo cookies 8 oz. soft cream cheese 1/2 stick butter 1 c. powdered sugar 2 sm. pkgs. vanilla instant pudding 3 c. milk (use 3 c., do not follow pudding instructions) 16 oz. whipped topping Bag of gummy worms (opt. for decorations) Crush cookies really good so they look like potting soil and put them aside. (Use food processor or crush by hand because it might mess up your blender. Combine softened cream cheese and soft butter with powdered sugar. Mix the pudding and milk in a separate bowl (make it a big one) and add whipped topping. Fold in cream cheese mixture. Since you have a lot of cookie mix you might want to add some to the filling. Get an 8" flower pot and put something in the bottom to cover the holes. Sprinkle in 1/4 cookies and pour in pudding mix. Pour remaining cookies on top so that it looks like dirt. Add some silk flowers and serve with a garden trowel. (Don't use the one from the yard.) Keep refrigerated until served. (It can handle road trips but not overnight.) This time I followed the directions but you may want to try adding one more box of pudding and 1 1/2 cups milk if you want more of a vanilla taste. Don't forget to put your flower pot, flowers and trowel away for next time. |
