RANGE TOP COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 c. quick cooking oats

In a large heavy saucepan mix and bring to a boil over medium heat, the sugar, cocoa, milk and butter, stirring occasionally. Boil 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla, peanut butter and oats. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on waxed paper or spread in a greased 9 x 9 x 1 inch pan; cool a few hours or until firm. Cut in 1 inch squares. Yield: About 5 dozen. Note: 1/2 cup raisins or shredded coconut can be added.
