2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. nuts (crushed) pecans
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. melted butter

TOPPING:

1 1/2 c. M and M's (crunched)
2 tbsp. shortening
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
Crumb mixture

Mix all dry ingredients together, add butter. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of this mixture. Then grease pan, spread the remaining mixture in pan and press down firmly. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool. Mix: 2 tablespoons shortening, 1 1/2 cup M and M's (crunched). Stir in 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk. Cook over low heat until the mixture is well blended. Don't let boil or stick to pan, stir constantly. Spread mixture over baked crust and sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the M and M mixture. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Garnish with M and M's if you like. Makes a great Christmas dessert. Great for the kids to get in there and help out.
