BEST EVER BAKED BEANS 
1 lg. (40 oz.) can baked beans
2 c. crushed tomatoes (1/2 of lg. can)
1/2 lb. bacon - quarter the strips
2 lg. onions
3/4 c. brown sugar

Layer all ingredients in 9 x 9 inch metal or foil pan: 1/2 of the can of beans; 1 large onion, chopped; 1 cup of the crushed tomatoes; 1/2 of the brown sugar; 1/2 of the bacon (place very close together, even overlapping). Repeat all layers again with the remaining half of all ingredients. Bake 2 1/2-3 hours at 300 degrees. (These freeze well, just thaw and reheat.)
