2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. salt 1/3 tsp. baking soda 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/2 c. water, warm 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 4 tsp. baking powder 5 c. flour Put buttermilk in large bowl. Add soda and beat. Add salt, sugar and oil. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water and add to above. Then slowly add flour and baking powder and mix well. Pour out onto a floured board, knead then roll out and cut biscuits with round cookie cutter. Put on greased cookie sheet and bake in 425 degree oven for 15 minutes. One half recipe may be used and other half stored in refrigerator until next day. |
