1 c. sugar
Lg. c. raisins
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 c. nutmeats
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. cinnamon

Put all ingredients together in saucepan and bring to a boil. Then let the above get cold. When cold add:

2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

Bake in greased 2x8x12 pan for 1 hour at 300 degrees. Serve topped with whipped cream.
