1 c. butter OR 1/2 c. shortening and 1/2 c. butter
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add 1 cup of flour, salt and baking soda. Mix well, then add rest of flour. Cut out on floured board. Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1-inch apart as the cookies spread while they are baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. cool and decorate or eat as is.
