OATMEAL CINNAMON COOKIES 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
3 tbsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oats
1 c. pecans

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Stir together 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small bowl. In mixer bowl, combine 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup butter; beat for 30 seconds. Add to shortening mixture 1 cup sugar and 2/3 cup brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Then add 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons cinnamon, 2 tablespoons milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla; beat well. Add dry ingredients to beaten mixture and mix until well blended. Stir in oats and pecans.

Chill dough for 2 hours. In shallow bowl, mix 1 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Form 1 inch balls from dough mixture and dip tops of balls in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
