BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
3 c. plain flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. shortening
(Use 1 stick butter & 1/2 c. oil)

Sift dry ingredients. Add buttermilk and shortening. Beat 2 minutes on high speed. Add eggs and flavorings. Beat 2 minutes more on high speed. Pour batter into greased tube pan and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees. Preheat oven.

GLAZE:

1/2 stick butter
1/2 box powdered sugar
About 1/2 c. orange juice

Mix all ingredients and pour over cake while hot.
