HOT WATER SPONGE CAKE 
5 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
5 stiff beaten egg whites

Beat egg yolks, until very thick. Add sugar gradually and continue beating. Mix smooth and add flour and dry ingredients. Add boiling water and vanilla, continue beating. Last fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in ungreased 10 inch tube pan in slow oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour, cool.
