HAWAIIAN FRUIT BREAD 
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/3 c. sugar
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
1/2 c. orange juice
1 can (9 oz.) crushed pineapple
1/4 c. melted shortening

Sift together into a medium sized bowl; flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Combine in small bowl the remaining ingredients. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients. Stir until blended. Fold in 1 cup finely chopped walnuts. Pour into greased loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3. Decorate with walnut halves. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
