DANISH TARTS 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg
Preserves (any flavor - apricot, strawberry, etc.)
Chopped nuts

Sift first 4 ingredients. Blend in shortening until fine and crumbly. Add 1 beaten egg. Form into balls (approximately 1 inch); press center and up and around small (1 5/8 inch) muffin tins. Fill with 1/2 teaspoon preserves. Top with finely chopped nuts. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
