AUNT MARGARET'S CHOCOLATE
FROSTING
 
1 square or 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped or shaved
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Place chocolate, sugar, milk and shortening in pan. Bring slowly to full rolling boil, stirring slowly to full rolling boil, stirring constantly and boil 1 minute. Beat until lukewarm, add vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread.
