SWEET POTATO TREAT 
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 egg
3 c. mashed sweet potatoes (2-1 lb. cans)
3 tbsp. butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cut up dates

TOPPING:

1/2 c. maple syrup
1/4 c. butter

Add milk and egg to sweet potatoes. Beat well until a smooth paste is formed. Melt butter in frying pan and saute dates for two minutes, stirring constantly. Add sweet potato mixture and blend until dates are dispersed. Place in casserole.

Heat maple syrup and 1/4 cup butter until butter is melted. Pour over casserole. Bake 400 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
