APPLE CRUMB PIE 
4 lg. tart apples
1 recipe plain pastry-single crust
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar (again)
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter

Pare apples, cut in eighths and arrange in 9 inch pastry-lined pie pan. Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon, sprinkle over apples. Sift 1/2 cup sugar with flour, cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 400 degrees 40 to 50 minutes.
