CORNBREAD DRESSING | |
6 pkg. Gladiolo corn bread mix or use Dunaway recipe 1 doz. eggs Stale bread or toast 1/4 bread to cornbread 1 lg. stalk or 2 sm. stalks celery 6 onions 8 chicken broth cubes Salt, pepper & sage to taste Mix cornbread mix and cook. Crumble cornbread and stale bread. Mix a dozen eggs and pour on corn bread mixture. Cut onions and celery in small pieces. Cook in an open pan covered in water with chicken broth cubes. Add cooked celery, onions and broth to cornbread mixture. Add water and mix well by hands (approximately 4 cups water), salt, pepper and sage to taste. Cook covered until done then uncover and brown on top. Oven is 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Brown on top last 15 minutes. |
