3 sticks butter
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
6 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Sift flour with salt, baking powder and cocoa. Add vanilla and milk to butter-sugar mixture.

Mix well and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes (a little longer for some ovens.)
