HOT WATER CORNMEAL | |
2 c. cornmeal pinch of salt (if desired) 3 c. boiling water 2 tbsp. sugar or 2 1/2 tbsp. Splenda Combine cornmeal, salt and sugar or sugar substitute in bowl. Mix well. Add hot water slowly, stirring and mixing constantly. Batter should be thick so you can make cakes. Wet hands and pat mixture into cakes. Fry in hot grease until golden brown. Do not cook too slow, but cooking too fast will make it appear raw. Keep in mind it's okay because the hot water has already cooked the meal. You're just making it crispy. |
