SOFT POUND CAKE (EA) 
1/2 lb. butter
4 eggs
1 lb. sugar
1 c. milk
1 lb. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract

Cream butter. Beat in sugar, a little at a time, beating well after each, alternately add milk and flour, which has been sifted several times before measuring and adding baking powder. Do not stir but beat lightly until smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or a little longer.
