CORN DOGS 
1 lb. hot dogs
1 c. flour
2 tsp. corn meal
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 med. onion, chopped

Dry hot dogs with towel. Heat 2 to 3 inches oil in deep fryer or heavy large sauce pan. Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Dip franks in batter allowing excess to drip off. Fry in hot oil, turning once until brown, about 6 minutes.
