MAPLE BRAN MUFFINS 
3/4 c. natural wheat bran
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. maple syrup
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 c. oil
1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. nuts, chopped

Combine bran, milk and maple syrup. Mix in egg and oil. Combine remaining muffin ingredients. Add bran mixture stirring until moistened. Pour batter into 12 paper lined muffin cups and bake 18 to 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

GLAZE:

1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 tbsp. maple sugar

Combine all ingredients and stir until blended. Spread over warm muffins. Makes 1 dozen.
