POTATO STARTER | |
2 pkg. active dry yeast 1/2 c. warm water (105-115 degrees) 1 c. warm water (105-115 degrees) 2/3 c. sugar 3 tbsp. instant potato flakes Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water in mixing bowl. Stir in 1 cup warm water, sugar and potato flakes. Let mixture sit all day at room temperature. Refrigerate 2-5 days. Remove from refrigerator and feed. To feed: Use starter no more than every 3 days and no less than every 10 days. Before each use, feed starter. Add 3/4 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons instant potato flakes and 1 cup warm water to starter. Leave on counter overnight or all day in glass jar with holes punched in top. Makes 2-3 cups. |
