LAYERED SALAD 
1/2 head lettuce
1 green pepper
2 stalks celery, sliced
1/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
1 sliced sweet onion
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas

Layer in a straight-sided casserole dish.

TOPPING:

1 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. basil

Combine in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle with 1 cup grated cheese and 4 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours.
