GLAZED SPARE RIBS
1 med. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. ketchup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. hickory liquid smoke
Dash of hot pepper sauce
3 lbs. sm. pork spareribs

In microwavable bowl, combine onion, garlic and butter. Microwave on high until tender, about 2 minutes. Stir in ketchup, salt, liquid smoke and pepper sauce. Microwave barbecue sauce on high until hot and bubbly, stirring 2 or 3 times.

Meanwhile, cut ribs into 1-rib pieces. Arrange in microwavable dish or 3 quart casserole. Cover with waxed paper. Set barbecue sauce aside. Microwave ribs on high 15 minutes, rearranging ribs once. Brush with sauce and microwave on medium-high 20 to 25 minutes or until ribs are fork-tender. Preheat broiler. Arrange ribs on foil- lined broiler pan. Broil 3 minutes, turning once. Brush ribs with remaining sauce and broil until glazed with sauce. Serves 4.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
