GRIDDLE CAKES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. oil
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2-1 3/4 c. milk

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Combine beaten egg and milk, stir into dry ingredients. Add more milk if a thinner cake is desired. Blend in oil. Bake on hot griddle turning once. Serve with butter and syrup.
