DEVILED STEAK STRIPS 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 clove minced garlic
3 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. tomato sauce
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. horseradish
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper

Trim the excess fat from meat. Cut meat into 2 inch strips. Coat with flour. Brown meat, onion, and garlic in shortening. Stir in 1 cup water, tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt, and pepper.

Cover and simmer for 1 hour, or until tender. Stir occasionally. Stir in the remaining water, scraping browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Heat through. Serve over noodles or rice.
