DEVILED STEAK STRIPS 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 c. tomato sauce
1 tsp. horseradish
3/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1/4 tsp. pepper

Trim excess fat from meat. Cut meat into thin strips about 2 inches long; coat with flour.

In skillet, brown meat, onion and garlic in melted shortening. Stir in 1 cup of water, tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer 1 hour or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Scrape browned bits from bottom. Serve over noodles or rice. Makes 5-6 servings.
