CINNAMON PECAN RING | |
1 c. lukewarm milk 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. soft shortening 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 egg 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. corn syrup Melted butter Shopped pecans Combine milk, 1/4 cup sugar, salt, shortening, and yeast. Stir until dissolved. Stir in egg. Gradually add flour until dough can be handled easily. Turn on lightly floured board and knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl. Cover; let rise until double in bulk, about 2 hours. Punch down and knead lightly. Let rise 45 minutes. Combine 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Pour corn syrup in well greased 9 inch tube pan. Form walnut sized balls. Dip in melted butter and into cinnamon mixture. Place in pan in several layers. Sprinkle each layer with pecans. Let rise 45 minutes at 375 degrees 35-40 minutes. |
