TOFFEE BROWNIE BARS 
3/4 c. butter, soften
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg yolk
3/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour

FILLING:

1 pkg. Duncan Hines Chewy Fudge Brownie Mix, family size
1 egg
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. Crisco oil or Puritan oil

TOPPING:

1 pkg. (12 oz.) milk chocolate chips, melted
3/4 c. finely chopped pecans

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch pan.

2. For crust: Combine 3/4 cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1 egg yolk, 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in 1 1/2 cups flour. Spread in pan. Bake 15 minutes or until golden.

3. For filling: Prepare brownie mix following package directions. Spread on hot crust. Bake 15 minutes. Cool 30 minutes.

4. For topping: Spread melted chocolate on brownie layer and garnish with 3/4 cup chopped pecans. Cool completely. 48 bars

Tip: These bars may be made ahead and frozen in an airtight container for several weeks with good results.
