PEPPERMINT PINWHEEL 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Red food coloring
Peppermint extract

Mix all the ingredients except food coloring and peppermint. Refrigerate for 4-24 hours. Divide dough in two. To one dough add peppermint and food color. Chill for 4 hours. Roll out both doughs separately on wax paper 12x11 inch. Place one on top of the other. Roll it into a jelly roll. Slice it. Bake at 375 degrees, 10 minutes.
