A PORK CHOP MEAL 
12 pork chops
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 1/2 c. hot chicken broth
1/2 c. dry red wine
1 bay leaf
1/4 c. sour cream (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sprinkle pork chops with salt and pepper. Brown chops in vegetable oil over high heat. Remove and keep warm. Add olive oil to pan. Saute onion, garlic and mushrooms in olive oil until onion is golden. Pour in chicken broth, wine and bay leaf. Bring mixture to boil and cook for about 3 minutes.

Arrange chops in baking dish. Top with half the vegetables from mixture (remove them with slotted spoon). Put another layer and remaining mixture. Cover tightly and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Add sour cream to mixture when served, if desired. A marvelous dish! Total grams 36.9 (6.2 per serving)
