WORKING WOMAN'S ROLLS | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 3/4 c. milk 2 eggs 1/2 c. melted butter 1/2 c. sugar 4 c. flour, white or unbleached 1/2 tsp. salt In the evening, dissolve yeast in water. Stir in milk and sugar. Let liquid mixture stand at room temperature for 1 hour, then beat in eggs, butter, sugar, flour and salt. Let this mixture stand overnight at room temperature, lightly covered. Next morning, divide dough and shape as desired into rolls. Let rolls stand at room temperature until doubled or for any length of time up to 12 hours. Can add 1/4 cup wheat germ or unprocessed bran with flour for variety. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. |
