MICROWAVE SAUCY BEEF & MACARONI
HOTDISH

1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. uncooked macaroni
1 c. water
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder (opt.)
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. minced dry onion (may use fresh onion & brown with hamburger)

Crumble beef and onion in 2 quart casserole. Cook 5 to 6 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. Drain well. Mash beef to get rid of chunks. Add sauce and remaining ingredients. Cook 10 to 15 minutes covered on full power. Stir 3 or 4 times during cooking.

May add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon sugar to bring out the flavor and a pinch of chili powder. (A can of favorite vegetables may be added.)

Let stand for a few minutes covered to finish baking. Serve with bread and butter or cornbread. It's really a complete meal as it is. Quick, easy and good!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
