BRAN MUFFINS 
3 c. whole bran wheat cereal
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. self rising flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. buttermilk

Combine cereal and water. Stir in shortening and eggs. Stir in flour. Add remaining ingredients and blend. Spoon batter into muffin tin 3/4 full.

Bake at 400 for 18-22 minutes.
